Degree Program in MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)

The NEIGRIHMS began offering the MBBS program in 2008 with an annual enrollment of 50 students. According to the Medical Council of India's (MCI) academic calendar, the MBBS program lasts four years and six months. A one-year, required rotating internship program follows it. Every year, the MBBS program at NEIGRIHMS starts in the month of August. The following is the seat distribution for the MBBS program:

*An entrance exam is given to fill 18 seats under the North-Eastern open category. The state governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland each nominate candidates for the seats listed under those respective states.

The postgraduate (MD/MS) programs at NEIGRIHMS began in 2009. NEIGRIHMS currently offers MD/MS courses in eight disciplines

The two courses each have a three-year duration. A student enrolled in an MD/MS program is referred to as a Junior Resident (PG). Every year, these courses' academic year begins in the month of May. Following are the seats that are available in each specialty:

The Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology Super Specialty (Post Doctoral) course is offered by the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences. Beginning in 2012–2013, it was affiliated with North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).

The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences' B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program lasts four years. The goal of this program is to prepare its graduates to work as trained practitioners in a variety of hospitals and community institutions by providing them with a solid foundation in nursing knowledge. They learn how to manage various healthcare initiatives effectively and develop into a team leader for healthcare professionals.

According to the Indian Nursing Council's academic calendar, the B.Sc. nursing program lasts four years, including a six-month internship. There are 50 seats available each year for the course, which is associated with North Eastern Hill University.
