Admissions at NIT Rourkela are now available. JEE Mains is used for admissions to undergraduate engineering programs. The seat allocation for JoSAA rounds 1 and 2 has been announced. On September 29, 2022, the deadline was announced for all the categories. Beginning on August 31st, 2022, registration for GATE 2023 for M.Tech admissions will last till September 30th, 2022. In 2023, the GATE exam will be given between February 4 and February 12. Additionally, JAM 2023 M.Sc admission applications opened on September 7, 2022.
The Regional Engineering College (REC) Rourkela is currently known as the National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela). It was founded on August 15, 1961, and since then, it has grown to become one of India's National Institutes of Technologies. It is an independent institution of national significance that falls under the Department of Human Resource Development. The 262 hectares of land granted by the Orissan government serve as the foundation for the NIT Rourkela campus.
State University of New York A higher education institution for engineering, science, and technology is situated in Rourkela and is supported by the government. In the NIRF ranking 2022, NIT Rourkela is placed 39 overall, 24 in research, and 15 in engineering. The institute wants to be a well-known location that produces qualified engineers and scientists.
A number of courses are available at NIT Rourkela, including M.Tech, B.Arch, M.Arch, and M.Plan. Students must get the GATE scores in order to be admitted to the M.Tech, M.Arch, or M.Plan programs. The CCMT counselling has already begun with the NIT Rourkela GATE cut off 2022 currently being published. The JoSAA 2022 counselling program has been made public, and enrollment will begin on September 12 of that year.

The B.Tech programme admission process at NIT Rourkela is currently open. Now available is the JoSAA 2022 round 6 ticket allocation result. The seat allocation results can be viewed online by candidates by going to the official website, josaa.admissions.nic.in. There will be online reporting for admission and document verification for applicants who received seats in round 6 through October 17. Additionally, the GATE 2023 exam will be held from February 4 to February 12, 2023.
Admission to NIT Rourkela in 2022 is determined by results from national exams. Students get accepted into the NIT Rourkela BTech programme based on their JEE Main 2022 ranking. There will be two sessions—June and July—for the exam this year. On June 29, the JEE Main exam session one (June) came to an end. JEE Main exam 2022 session 2 (July) will now be held starting on July 25, 2022. JEE Main 2022 June session was rated as moderate by students and experts, with Mathematics being the hardest subject, Physics being on the moderate side, and Chemistry being the easiest.
On the basis of GATE, CAT, JAM, and merit, the institute grants admission to its PG programmes, including MTech, MBA, MSc, and MA (Development Studies). The results of CCMT 2022 Round 2 for MTech admissions are currently available. The deadline to pay the fee and accept an admission offer has been postponed until June 30. The institute has chosen 30 candidates for the MA in Development Studies final admissions list. On June 27 and 28, 2022, the selection process for these 30 students will be held. On June 30, the second merit list will be made public (if seats are still open). On June 21, the initial merit list for PhD admissions was also made public. On July 18–19, 2022, admissions for chosen students will be completed.
Executive PhD, Executive MBA, and Part-Time MTech applications are still being accepted from working professionals through July 14. On July 29, 2022, entrance/interview rounds for working professionals will be held.
