Leading private engineering school MAEER'S Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) is situated in Pune. The institution was founded in 1983, is associated with the University of Pune, and is approved by the Maharashtra government. The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the UGC both endorse MIT Pune. The new name of MIT Pune is MIT-WPU (MIT World Peace University)

Numerous reputable surveys and rating agencies have named the college as a top engineering college. In a study of the best private engineering institutions, conducted by the news magazine "Outlook," MIT Pune came in first in Maharashtra and eleventh overall in India. According to a recent Times study, MIT Pune is placed 8th overall among private Indian engineering schools, 27th overall among all Indian engineering schools, including IITs, and 7th in western India.

MIT Pune provides four-year degree programs in a variety of engineering specialities as well as postgraduate programs. Engineering programs at Pune's Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) are well-known in India. The MIT-WPU School of Engineering has recently taken the moniker MIT Pune Engineering.

More than 20 UG and PG programs in engineering and management are available at the college. B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA programmes are offered at MIT in Aurangabad. Engineering second-year lateral entry admissions are also available.

  • JEE Main or MH-CET merit scores will be used to determine admission to the B.Tech programme.
  • Candidates must have completed Class 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as required courses and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a Technical Vocational Subject as an optional subject.
  • Admissions for lateral entry are determined by the grades candidates earned in their B.Sc. with mathematics as a subject in 12th grade or their Diploma of Engineering/Technology.
  • MBA applicants must submit their applications using their CMAT or MAH-CET scores.
  • M.Tech candidates need to have valid GATE scores and apply for CAP conducted by DTE.
  • A applicant must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology and a high GATE score to be admitted to the M.Tech programme.
  • Directorate Technical Education (DTE) will handle admissions through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) or Institute Level Admission (ILA).
  • Candidates must present for the CAP and document verification in accordance with the timetable listed on the official website. DTE, Maharashtra will welcome applications, create a merit list, and conduct document verification.
  • The institute also invites applicants to apply for ILA and openings that were announced after CAP.
