Overview

An independent engineering college called Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) was founded more than 30 years ago. With the intention of providing aspirant youth with high-quality technical education, the institute was founded by the Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charity educational trust of the Sakthi Group.

It is connected to Anna University and is situated in Coimbatore's IT corridor. KCT Coimbatore is an NAAC-accredited institution with an ISO certification. All of the KCT's courses are AICTE-approved, and its UG programs are NBA-accredited. For three years running, the institute has been listed by NIRF as one of the top 100 engineering colleges.

Kumaraguru College of Technology's courses

The majority of the UG and PG courses offered at Kumaraguru College of Technology are in the engineering field. At the UG level, the institute provides full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech programs in specialities like textile technology, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, automotive engineering, and information technology. The annual price range is roughly INR 50,000.00, and there are about 1,200 students enrolled. The UG courses are also offered in lateral entry format, with a 3-year course length.

KCT offers M.E/M. Tech, MBA, and MCA with a variety of specialisations at the PG level. The Master of Engineering and Master of Technology (M.E./M. Tech) is a 2-year full-time degree program with specialisations in Applied Electronics, CAD/CAM, Communication Systems, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Apparel Technology, Biotechnology, Data Science, and Master of Technology Management. The average annual cost of the M.E./M. Tech program is INR 50,000.00, and there are typically 200 students enrolled. In a similar vein, KCT's MBA program is a 2-year full-time program with a variety of concentrations, including finance, HRM, marketing, IT, and others. Similar to this, KCT offers a 3-year full-time MCA course. There are 60 seats available, and the cost is roughly INR 35,000.00 per year. The institute offers PhD programs in a number of specialisations, including biotechnology, computer science, electrical, mechanical, and textiles, among others, in addition to UG and PG degrees.

The UG and PG programs at KCT are accredited by AICTE and adhere to all of its guidelines. The NBA has also authorised the UG courses.

Admissions

KCT Coimbatore Admissions

Undergraduate admissions at Kumaraguru College of Technology typically begin in May, while the academic year officially starts in July or August. KCT PG admissions typically open in April, with the start of the program in July. Applicants who wish to be considered for admission to KCT programs must complete an online application and submit a fee of Rs. 500. Before applying for admission to KCT, candidates are urged to read the informational booklet.

Candidates for the B.E./B.Tech. program are admitted through TNEA counselling, however those applying for the M.E./M. Tech., MCA, and MBA programs must pass the TANCET test with passing marks.

Cut-off

The KCT cut-off is the minimal score needed to enrol in the courses being offered. The number of seats available in KCT and the degree of difficulty of the admission exam conducted each year may affect the cutoff. To enrol in courses at KCT, the candidate must receive the required minimum marks.

Since its founding, KCT Coimbatore has had excellent placement results. The institute has strong ties to the business world, which greatly aids students in landing jobs with rewarding careers and competitive pay.
