Overview

The Delhi College of Engineering was renamed to Delhi Technological University in 1941. DTU's main goal is to supply Indian industries with technically skilled labourers who are well-versed in both practical application and excellent theoretical understanding. The Kashmere Gate campus of Delhi Technological University was constructed as a follow-up to Wood and Abbott.

In 1941, the university was initially founded as Delhi Polytechnic. After becoming affiliated with Delhi University and changing its name to Delhi College of Engineering, it began awarding degrees in 1952. The Institute has been a part of the Delhi Government since 1963. The institution was officially called DTU in 2009 after receiving university status.

Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs are available at the university for both technical and non-technical courses. Delhi Technological University, which offers more than 90 courses, came in at number 42 in the NIRF 2021 rankings. One of the courses that candidates are most interested in is the B.Tech program. DTU's engineering program has an NIRF ranking of 36.

The University School of Management and Entrepreneurship at Delhi Technical University is renowned for its management programs. It provides management BBA, MBA, and Ph.D. programs.

The Bawana Road campus of the Delhi Technological University is made up of 163 acres of lush greenery, and there are plans to expand even further to make room for new degree offerings.

DTU is accredited to ISO 9001:2015. It has Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) for knowledge, technology, and facility sharing with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun; and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

On March 5th, 2019, DTU opened the doors of the Multidisciplinary Center for Geoinformatics (MCG). The centre seeks to offer a platform for initiatives needing transdisciplinary information and knowledge as well as elements of several technical areas.

A Center of Excellence for Electric Vehicles and Related Technologies (CoE for EVRT) has been formed at Delhi Technological University in addition to the MCG to develop and research eco-friendly transportation systems and provide cutting-edge training and testing resources.

Delhi Technological University works to enhance students' technical and practical knowledge by implementing cutting-edge programs and exchanging knowledge with other institutions through a number of MoUs.
