Co-educational, state-owned, and religiously affiliated, Assam Don Bosco University is located in India. On March 29, 2008, the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) established the university, and the Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati, saw it through. The university was established under the Assam Private Universities Act 2007 before the Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2009, which was passed on January 9, 2009.

Admissions to Assam Don Bosco University in 2022

B. Tech. degrees in five specialisations and B. Tech. lateral admission are offered by the Assam Don Bosco University. The minimal qualification for a B. Tech includes passing the 10+2 exam with at least a 45 percent overall score and passing required courses in physics, math, and chemistry. Candidates for the B. Tech lateral entry programme must hold a diploma or a B.Sc. from an institution recognised by the AICTE in a relevant field.

The selection process for first-year B.Tech students is based on the merit in the qualifying exam and entrance test, i.e., JEE Main/state admission test/Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test. Admission to the second year of the B.Tech. would be based on the candidate's performance in the Assam Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test (DBU-GET).

BCA, Integrated BCA, BA, and B. Com. are all offered as undergraduate programmes at Assam Don Bosco University. The four specialities available are: English, Education, Psychology, and Mass Communication. First-come, first-served policy governs the admissions process. For B. Com, a minimum cumulative grade point average of 50% is required, while for BA and BCA, a minimum cumulative grade point average of 45% is required. On the institute's official website, candidates can submit an application for the courses mentioned above. The form must be obtained offline and delivered to the institute's registered office along with the required paperwork.

For qualifying candidates, the Assam Don Bosco University provides full-time MBA programmes in marketing, finance, and human resources. Candidates must take the CAT/GMAT/XAT/MAT/JMAT/CMAT/DBU-PGET exam in order to apply for any MBA specialty. A bachelor's degree in any discipline, with a minimum overall grade point average, is required for MBA applicants. Final selection will be based on prior academic performance, entrance score, performance in group discussions, and performance in individual interviews.

The four disciplines available for M.Tech degrees are civil, electrical, electronics, computer science, and electronics. Each speciality only accepts a total of 24 applicants. The minimal prerequisite is a graduate in an area of engineering or technology with a 60 percent overall grade point average. A personal interview and an entrance exam are both conducted by the Assam Don Bosco University.

The university also offers a Master of Social Work, an MA in three streams (Education, Mass Communication, and Human Rights), and an M.Sc. in six streams. Candidates may apply for the above courses at the Assam Don Bosco University if they have earned a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% overall.

Candidates who have earned a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% overall are eligible for the MCA programme at Assam Don Bosco University. Candidates must have completed mathematics at the +2 or graduate level or an equivalent course to be eligible. Based on their achievement on the qualifying exam, the DBU-PGET (Post Graduation Entrance Test), and an individual interview, the institution will choose 60 candidates.

In 18 fields of study, Assam Don Bosco University provides Ph.D. programmes. The minimum requirement for applicants is a Master's degree in a related field with a 55 percent overall score, or a 6.0 CGPA on a scale of 1 to 10. The Don Bosco University "Aptitude for Research" Test (DBU-ART), the performance on the qualifying test, and a face-to-face interview with the Assam Don Bosco University's Board of Research Studies are used to determine the candidates.

Candidates for the BA (Honors) in Economics programme must have obtained a minimum score of 50% on the HSSLC or a comparable test. Priority will be given to those who have a background in economics, mathematics, or statistics. There will be an evaluation of the English and math scores from the HSLC or an equivalent test.

Students must have passed the Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent) in any stream with a 50 percent aggregate to be eligible for the BA (Honors) in Education.

Candidates for the BA (Honors) in English must have achieved a minimum overall and English score of 50% in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent) in any stream.

Candidates for the BA (Honors) in Mass Communication must have achieved a minimum of 50% overall and 50% in English on the Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent) in any stream.

Candidates for the BA with Honors in Psychology must have an overall grade point average of 50% in any stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent).

Candidates for the BA with Honors in Philosophy must have an overall grade point average of 50% in any stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent).

The Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent) in any stream must be passed by candidates for the BA (Honors) Public Administration with a minimum cumulative score of 50%.

Students must have received at least 50% on their Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination to be eligible for the BBA programme.

Candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of 45 percent in any stream and have passed the Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or an equivalent) to be eligible for the Bachelor of Computer Applications. Those who studied mathematics in high school are given an advantage. Every candidate must attend a personal interview.

Students must have received 45 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics on their Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent) to be eligible for a B.Sc. degree.

The Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination (or equivalent) must have been passed by applicants for the B.Tech programme with a minimum of 50% overall and 50% in each of the subject areas of physics, math, and chemistry/computer science. Or the students needed to have received at least a 50% on their Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) exam. (Subject to First Year vacancies if lateral entrance vacancies are exhausted.) Additionally, the students should have passed the Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Exam, JEE (Main), or any other state entrance exam.

A minimum passing grade of 60% is required for students seeking for B.Tech (Lateral Entry) in any engineering or technology area. acquired a B.Sc. degree with at least 50% of the required marks from a university that has been granted recognition by the UGC and has passed the 10+2 exam with mathematics as a subject.

The basic requirements for admission to the undergraduate programme are passing a higher secondary exam in the pertinent courses and earning a 45 percent overall aggregate grade.

Performance in the qualifying exams and the JEE Main/DBU-GET is taken into account while selecting candidates for the B.Tech programme.

Post-graduate programmes require a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50%.

M.Tech, MCA, and MSW candidates are chosen based on their performance on university entrance exams and a personal interview. MBA applicants are picked based on their performance on the CAT/ GMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ JMAT/ DBU-PGET and GD and PI.
